This group of SPHS 1959 classmates came out of the shade of the cafeteria for a quick group shot in the hot sun and before going on the school tour during the 50 Year Reunion weekend - Sept. 25-27.
Kathy Melendy said of the reunion:
Hi All:
A special Thank You to all on our Reunion Committee....The event and everything associated with it was nothing short of spectacular. I know everyone that I talked with at the events felt the same way and they couldn't stop commenting about how terrific everything is/was, and these words don't seem to say enough. I wanted to make sure that you all realized the great contribution you made to us and how happy you made us all feel.....Everything was in such good taste, from the food to the location to the wonderful memory books to the film and DVD...I just can't stop...I know I had a marvelous time as did Carolyn McGrath Chorak (who I had to strongly convince to come, and was she ever glad!)
About 80 classmates plus half brought a spouse or guest to the 50 Year Reunion last September 25th and had a great time. There are a few Memory Books available for $35 and Tiger Topics DVD's for $15 if you make out a check to Class of 1959 and mail it to Deanne Weed Davis, POB 128, Sierra Madre CA 91025.
We may have a Friday night Class of 1959 get together in 2012 if there is another All Year SPHS reunion - they have been held every 10 years on a Saturday. The All Year gathers in Garfield Park by graduation year and then marches through town to the high school. A dinner follows in the evening. In addition, the SPHS Alumni Assn. has an All Year Picnic every year in June - 2010 will be June 19th. Check back here and on the Alumni Assn. web site from time to time. If we have your correct email, you will get a notice sent to the class list, so keep us up to date with your information.
